Silver Fox

Breed: Silver Fox
Description: In America the silver fox is known as the silver marten. The fox was produced by crossing the black and tan rabbit with the chinchilla rabbit. The result is a fur rabbit with the coat qualities of the chinchilla breeds but marked with the pattern of the tan with loss of yellow pigment. The loss of yellow pigment means that the. markings are white in color.

This is a very popular fur rabbit. Perhaps the most important factor in the fox is the coat; it is allotted 40 points. The general fur length is about one inch, exceedingly soft and dense. The second most important consideration is color, which should be sound in all respects and of good depth. The type is a medium-sized rabbit with gently rising back. The head is wide and of medium size, ears of medium length in proportion to the rest of the rabbit.
